Profile
Takashi Kumon is one of Japan’s leading economic and business analysts regarding China and serves as Deputy Manager at Interchange Association. Since 2002, he had been responsible for research for about 4 years in the China and North Asia Division of the Overseas Research Department at the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). In this position, he supervised several ongoing research projects regarding China and its relationship with Japan. Prior to this, he was a researcher and analyst regarding China-US relations for JETRO.

He has appeared on national broadcast TV and radio many times to provide insight and commentary regarding the Chinese economy and Japanese companies strategies in China. He has also spoken to a number of business conferences and forums, as well as industry organizations and universities.

In addition, he has written widely on the Chinese economy, and including two books, “Human Resource Strategy of Japanese affiliated Companies in China” (2005) JETRO, Japan and “China’s Top Companies” (2004) edited by Ryuichiro Inoue, JETRO, Japan.

He is a graduate of Keio University and has a master’s degree from the University of Michigan and a certificate from Qinghua University’s graduate school of Economics and Management.
