Noboru Takano, Ritz-Carlton Japan"Legendary Service at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel"

Noboru Takano Regional Director of Sales of the Tokyo International Sales Office and author of best-selling book, 'Ritz-Carlton ga Taisetsu ni Suru Service wo Koeru Shunkan'.

Mr. Takano is responsible for generating business from Japanese market for all Ritz-Carlton hotels world-wide. His responsibilities include direct sales efforts to travel trade accounts, corporate accounts, government related associations, etc. In the area of indirect sales, he communicates with marketing organizations such as Dentsu PR divisions, Sony marketing divisions, tourism offices from overseas countries for creating joint marketing programs. He is leading and guiding sales & marketing team in Japan, as well as managing Tokyo reservation center.

He joined Ritz-Carlton Hotel in March1990, as a member of The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco opening team. He assumed responsibilities as a Director of travel industry sales then. He was then transferred to Los Angeles ISO in 1991 as Director of International Sales. In 1993, He was transferred to Honolulu, Hawaii to open the new regional sales office for both The Ritz-Carlton, Mauna Lani and Kapalua. In 1994, he was transferred to Tokyo to assume his current position. Since then, he has assisted in the opening of The Ritz-Carlton Osaka, Seoul and Singapore.

He began his hotel career in New York in 1974, when he first came to U.S.A. as an opening team of Hotel Kitano. He later joined the Statler Hilton in 1977. In 1982, he joined The Plaza Hotel (Westin operated hotel then) as International sales manager. In 1984, he was transferred to The Los Angeles Bonaventure hotel as Director of international sales. In 1987, he moved to San Francisco and joined Fairmont Hotels Corporation, where he served as Director of travel industry sales for San Francisco property.
