Brian Nelson - ValueCommerce

Nelson Profile
Brian Nelson is President & CEO of ValueCommerce Japan. His management experience and leadership abilities have helped build ValueCommerce into one of the leading Internet Sales and Marketing companies in Japan. Through his results oriented operational philosophy, team building skills, motivation based communications and clear direction, Brian has been able to harness the tremendous strength of a diverse and highly talented management team and group of employees, who are focused on executing an aggressive vision and strategy for the future. Brian gained his experience and skills through his operational, sales, consulting, marketing, and senior management positions which he has held since first coming to Japan in 1990. This experience has proven invaluable as he executes his responsibilities as CEO of ValueCommerce since March of 2001. Brian joined ValueCommerce in January of 2000 as the COO from the consulting industry, where he had a highly successful career with "The Gallup Organization" in Japan. As Director of Sales and Marketing he was credited with developing and managing Gallup Japan's domestic and international client portfolio, consistently boosting year-on-year revenues, profits, and customer satisfaction. This led to Brian being appointed as a Director of the Board to Gallup Singapore in order to provide assistance to the President of Gallup Singapore during the start up phase of those operations. Prior to Gallup, Brian worked in Business Development with a subsidiary of Japan's largest and most profitable non-life insurer, Tokyo Marine and Fire Insurance Co., Ltd., and previously began his experience in Japan as a sales executive for Ashisuto, Japan's first full service computer software corporation.

ValueCommerce, currently the number one affilate marketing company in Japan by network size and sales volume, generated more than JPY 100 billion in sales for their customers in 2004 and has approximately 1,000 eCommerce Merchant customers. On a daily basis ValueCommerce serve on average 330 million advertisements across this network.

In April 2005, ValueCommerce finalized a strategic capital alliance with internet portal Yahoo! Japan. Yahoo! Japan acquired a 49.7% share of ValueCommerce and both companies will form a close co-operative working relationship.
